I just started building the 'Custom Arocs SLT RC Low Boy Trailer', which is turning out to be quite heavy without any load. I'm wondering whether the 2x XL motors are enough to drive both the Arocs and the trailer (and the load e.g. Volvo wheel loader)? Does anyone have any experience in the build? Should I plan to change gear ratios, possibly increase to 4x XL motors (if even possible, I haven't bought the Arocs instructions yet)

The model has 2 xl engines and 2 battery boxes. this ensures proper power. To date, no customer has said anything to the contrary. if you want to build 4 xl engines, you also have to use the V2 reciever, otherwise the power will not reach the engines. regards

The Arocs SLT works really well as built in the instructions. The issue I have currently is that when I add the Low Boy Trailer (with no load) the knob wheels that provide drive are slipping across each other and the motor mounting starts pulling itself apart. I tried switching to the PF speed remote control but had the same problem even when applying minimal power, the knob wheels are slipping because of the combined weight. Do you have any suggestion on how to gear down in order to pull the low boy trailer?

PS. For future revisions, page 29, step 9 there is a recurring error,  a 'Technic Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular' is added in substep #3, but then disappears through step 12.

        Some additional comments on instructions:
        - pg158 step 6 & pg159 step 6, there is a missing ''Technic axle 4'' from the parts
        - pg161 ''Technic axle 3'' with stud does not have a valid connection to the ''Technic half bush'', as shown it is not possible. Not sure if this is due to a mold variation on ''Technic Panel 3 X 11 x 1''

Also the parts list here on Rebrickable (2882) does not match the parts list in the instructions (2876). I haven't cross checked entire list but the Rebrickable list does have missing parts e.g. ''Plate 2 x 2 x 0.667 with Two Studs On Side and Two Raised'' is missing in both light bluish grey and black.

thanks also for this, may be that he has forgotten in the acquisition or not found. we always generate our own codes ... was something wrong with the assembly or was it left?

Thanks CustomBricks for putting together the instructions for a very nice MOC. I deviated from the white/blue for a red/black theme as I had more available parts that way, plus it follows same color scheme as the lowboy trailer. I also avoided quite a few parts that are rare/expensive, working out alternatives for my version that don't detract from the original MOC.

It really is a nice looking MOC now finished. I did find some parts of the build a little frustrating as some steps are a bit finicky and quite often sections would fall apart - especially when working on the front and interior of the truck. Working with my red/black scheme I also had to plan ahead to see if I would have enough of the color to complete a section, swapping with alternatives where parts were more or less hidden.

Now complete its a certainly a great static model to look at and the functions kind of work as expected when there is no trailer. One area that could benefit from some modification are the steering axles. The doors need an additional locking mechanism, they tend to swing open when steering the truck :-) Picking the truck up and moving it around requires some care as some sections detach very easily. These are not complaints, just things to consider when building.

As mentioned previously I also built the lowboy trailer, the Arocs really struggles to move with it attached. The motor section would need additional strengthening as the speed of the two motors tend to cause the knob wheels to slip and force apart from each other, which also tends to pull the structure apart. Gearing down is needed to manage the load on the motor, to get the truck/trailer combo moving.

I will upload some photos once I have an area setup for photography of the truck/trailer combo, which is about 6ft in length!

Thanks for the great pictures! I am revising in a Mammoet version, I will reinforce the drive axle (knob wheels)! Thank you for your detailed description!

hello...I just started building you MOC....how did you reinforce the drive axle?
          • 8 months, 1 week ago CustomBricks.de Level 16 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
ello, in August-September, there will be new Farbvaianten. We have made the engine even more stable. There are only 2 new components. A 3x3 T-shape and a 2x4-beam. I'll upload 2 pictures ...

This is a good solution, but I do not think this will fix the problem of the drive axle slipng out.....Also I do think gearing dawn is needed...Any way this is a good MOC.. I Will weit for some new improvements

I'm not sure where the mistake is (didn't start building yet), but the part list here is different to the one provided in the instructions. Same for MOC-10554 (Trailer).

    Hi,

Fantastic model, can this model be built with out the power functions and hand of god steering?

    Thanks

I think no. But you can build this without electric parts. And work on HOG steering maybe?

Hi.. I have a spare Arocs set.. Is that all I need to build this great looking truck!?
    • 2 years, 11 months ago CustomBricks.de Level 16 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Hello, in our guide you also get an xml code. So you can create a wanted-list on bricklink. And yes, they are all parts. We have modified the model, optimized parts and adapted the instructions. You can now build the illustrated model 1 to 1. Regards
