Lego Sailboat

A MOC of a Benetau Cyclades 43.4 sailboat in approximate minifig scale. The inspiration for this came from watching the journey of alas A lego version of La Vagabonde!

This is more of a shelf display piece and not really meant to be a kid's toy. It's my first attempt at a minifig scale MOC. And no, it definitely does not float.

The sailboat frame uses a somewhat "illegal" building technique of linking brick 1 x 2 pieces to create a curved hull. A sewing string is used to make the rigging lines. I've added sails cut out of a white plastic trash bag. You could, of course, keep it 100% lego without these.

Finally got around to building this really clever MOC and I was very impressed.  The instructions are very clear and the design to get the
curves on the hull is incredibly clever.  10 out of 10!

Wow this looks amazing!  I also like the 'clever' illegal connection.

It look's fine and the "illegal" Technic to build this Boat was impressive!
