Fllying Armadillo EV3 Robot
This "Fllying Armadillo" Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot could be used for FIRST Lego League (FLL) events. Sporting two EV3 Large Motors on top, one could use some x334c01 "Technic, Axle Flexible 26L (Axle 2L and 4.5L Ends) with Dark Gray Cable" pieces ( www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x334c01 ) to power attachments. For example, I used those flexible axles to move FuzzyCow's DualGrabber ( www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/17791224556/in/album-7... ). See the picture of the two connected in the "MOC Details" link above. One doesn't have to worry about making elaborate "Gear Trains" to connect to attachments; the Flex Axle can be twisted and provide the necessary torque. Two EV3 Color Sensors help with FLL line following and line squaring, and the EV3 Gyro Sensor helps with turns. If you "sequence" your FLL programs all in a row and have them "pause" when the robot comes back to the FLL field's Base, you can press the EV3 Touch Sensor to initiate your next program. Experiment with your own attachments.
