Mythical Cat

A cat (with bits shamelessly scraped off the dragon). Can be improved / changed easily, as quite a few bricks from the set are unused. Relatively well posable, except for the head which can't look upwards in the current configuration.

This is my first MOC as an adult (and the first one I'm sharing), so comments are very appreciated.

    Hello,
I have created a PDF instructions files using Studio and shared it here:

      Hi, that's awesome, thank you!
Would it be okay for you if I changed the "official" instructions link to this instead of the Stud.io file? I'd credit you in the description, of course.
      Keep building!

        Hi,
I think you can (and should) keep both.
In any case make the file local; don’t make a direct link to Dropbox (sorry for saying the obvious).
        Great MOC btw.

That's really cool! It's definitely better than I could do.

Thank you! It wasn't that hard to make it: the legs are almost verbatim from the dragon, and the head is an "accident" -- inspired by an intermediate step from the giant's head. This set is awesome, it's really easy to make nice things with it -- much easier than with other similarly sized sets. I really recommend it. And in the end, what matters is whether we're having fun :-)

Two furry creatures approve this MOC (one by looking grumpy and one by sleeping).

Yay! Furry creatures' approval brings double the happiness! Looking grumpy and sleeping is how they tell us they love us, right? :-)

    Hello,
what is the Password for the zip-file?
    Thanks.
    • 1 year, 4 months ago kamila Level 10 Designed this MOC
      Hi,

the file is a Stud.io 3D model, you need Stud.io to open it. You can download it at http://stud.io/ .

In fact, you are right that it is "secretly" a ZIP file. However, it was created with Stud.io, which unfortunately password-protects the ZIP with an unknown password. One would have to reverse-engineer Stud.io to find the password. (I want to do it eventually, because I do not think it is fair that they do that, but I haven't found the time so far.) So... I don't know the password and you have to use Stud.io to open it. Sorry about that. Complain to Stud.io developers, I think this is just terrible.

        Hi,
        thanks for your answer.
Renaming the file to ".io" worked fine and so it could be loaded in Studio.
Nice work, my son is very happy!

          Hi,

I am glad ^^ It makes me very happy when my MOCs make other people happy! Wish you and your son lots of fun :-)

It's cute, and actually a clever design for the ears!
    • 1 year, 6 months ago kamila Level 10 Designed this MOC
Thank you ^_^ The head design is actually a cheat -- I wasn't sure how to do the head, so I was idly leafing through the official instructions, and turns out that if you squint at one of the steps for the giant's head, it looks like an upside down cat :D So that's where this comes from :D

I wanna pet it - here kitty kitty... The mouse is also brilliant!
Wish my cat looked as dynamic and ready to pounce ;)

Thank you! ^_^ This set is very good, so it's really easy to make stuff with it. I am very happy with the huge possibilities of this relatively small set :-)

It is still impressive to go out of theme. It is easier to construct reptiles, for example, from this set, because you think of it as a dragon-set. You broke theme, very elegantly too :)
At the risk of bragging, check out my alternates for a train set (31054) I have nearly 50 of them, so I think it proves the size of the set does not matter - onlyl the imagination.

          That's an impressive collection! :D

I think of this set as a creature-set. So next time I should build a plane or something else that isn't an animal! :D Thanks for your encouraging and useful comment!

Do whatever is fun for you - I like breaking themes, but everyone has their own thing :) As for encouraging - it is very easy to be encouraging here : people post such beautiful things!
